Roms blowup at 1cell bays

#1 Unread post by briskbamboo »

Dear
I compiled lake_jersey test case with all default setting in Forward folder then run it with my grid file. It run for nearly 100 steps then blowup, by checking rst.nc file I found up that at some isolated 1 cell bay at the boundary the temp go strange ( minus temp with blue color in the attached image). Should I mask all these cells from ocean to land or how to fix it?

Thanks

The lake Jersey test case works for me. What you did is not LAKE_JERSEY :!: You changed the grid, land/sea mask, and added big and small islands. Stop calling it Lake Jersey because it is a different application and will confuse other users with misinformation! If doing nesting, it will require different nested grid connectivity because you changed its configuration. Obviously, you need to work on your land/sea mask. You need to avoid having a single cell bays! Who knows what you did to the bathymetry.

Thank you arango for your comments.
I has changed the topic as remove the lake_jersey in the title.
