current result along steep bathymetry gradient

Dear
There is ROMS current result over Caspian Sea in fig.1. As you can see current speed along red curve, which is consist with where there is great steep in bathymetry gradient (dash line in fig.2), is greater than other region (such as red curve's interior) . I did not know its result. Also I did not know that it is correct result or not?
Would you please guide me to how can control it?
