Re: Regional downscaling of climate projections?
Hi Ivica. We are doing a downscaling of CMIP6 scenarios SSP3 7.0 and SSP2 4.0 for New Zealand - and a reference hindcast. So similar to the scenarios you cited. In our case, the ROMS domain is nested inside a coupled model simulation (NZ-ESM), while the atmospheric conditions are provided by a ...

Hi Raf.
Did you check your obs_Zgrid?
Another thing to check is if you have BGQC activated. This will reject data based on the parameters set in your s4dvar.in
Cheers

Another one is the FENNEL model. From my limited experience with geochemical modelling, more complexity doesn't mean better model/results - sometimes the opposite.

Re: give maximum weight to data
Hi Xavier; You can always play with the obs and background errors... But it sounds to me you may want to increase the number of observations as well. When I assimilated HFR in the past, my best results were by assimilating 2h averages every 2h. The way you do it depends on the processes included in ...

I am trying to get the lastest "frozen" version of the ROMS-3.7, as from the message https://www.myroms.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5266 However, when checking the branches in the ROMS git repository I can only see tags up to the version 3.6. And the master seems to contain the version 3.8. What is ...

Hi all; Just updated my source (have been too long since I did that!) and could not find the option from modification #751... I used "svn update". Re: weird problem with forcing file
I am still having problems with the forcing files. Taking the Uwind as an example, even though all the values in my files are between -20<Uwind<20 ROMS says the min and max values to be: Min= 1e+35 Max= -1e+35. There are no Nan's in my files. Hi all; I am having a weird problem when trying to read wind stress into the model. Have done it several times, but this is the first I have this "error". Re: Observations for normalization?
The system is going to ask you for all the input files... you should just give it empty files (filled with zeros) and it should work. You will have the same problem witht he std files - and the solution is the same!
