Re: river salinity overshoot
Sasha, does ucla ROMS have MPDATA option? I vaguely remembered some flags such as MPDATA (or TS_MPDATA) could alleviate such problems This sounds like a fairly standard answer in ROMS comminity (and, in fact, in general oceanographic comminity), however, it should be noted that contrary to a very ...

river salinity overshoot
My salinity around the river often shows very high values over 40. And this high value only exists in the bottom layer. One layer up, salinity goes normal. So far, I have tried (1) smooth the grid (2) put river in top layers (3) activate both temperature and salinity or only salinity (4) tune bottom ...

what's going on with my zeta field?
Could anyone help to see what's going on with my zeta field. It's really weird. This happens after a few steps from the initial. Thanks!

How to tell if the model grid is good or not?
I use seagrid to generate grid for ROMS. It seems there are so many options in seagrid I can play with. But to the end How can I tell if the grid is good? Especially when I change the spacer, how dense do I need to put them for the study area? Any help is appreciated!

Re: about forcing
kate, I am trying to make a short-term run, like one or two years. Here comes my first two questions (1)From an initial condition, when I add like 1999 forcing, then the result will be 1999. Next from 1999 restart file, I add 2000 forcing, then the result will be 2000. Is this correct? (2)What if I ...

Hi, I am new to ROMS or any other numerical models. I am a little confused about the model forcings. Please help! (1)From an initial condition, when I add like 1999 forcing, then the result will be 1999. Next from 1999 restart file, I add 2000 forcing, then the result will be 2000. Is this correct ...
